Godly Encouragement for Women...

I love to find encouraging sites and blogs, and I would love to share one with you that has been a real encouragement to me lately. Mrs. Fink has a blog over at Journal for Women. Here is an excerpt from a recent post, "Beautifully Used":

...how what is it that can do to fill ourselves up with the presence of God so that the desire to genuinely love will be what naturally flows out of our heart for others? 

Spend time singing along with spiritual music

.  It is the singing of the psalms, hymns and spiritual songs that fills our hearts and minds with the joy of the Lord and the hopeful perspective of His Word. 

Spend time saying thank you to God and others for everything and just about anything

.  Being grateful is the polishing rag that keeps our souls from becoming critical and self-focused. 

Spend time being willing to spend your time doing what is good for others.

  Being willing to submit ourselves to others is the tool of life that keeps us humble.  And it is only through the lens of humility that we are really ever interested in investing anything good into the lives of others.

Is that it?  Yes, the Bible tells us that’s exactly how it happens.  We sing and say thanks and submit ourselves for the good cause of others and the Bible teaches us that something spiritually wonderful begins to happen when we do this ~ the presence of God begins to fill our heart and mind and soul, when it comes time for our thoughts and feelings to spill over into the lives of others, it’s the love of God that is within us that spills over.
Why?  Because the Bible teaches us in Luke 6:45, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good ;. . . for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”Whatever is flowing in us is going to be the very thing that flows out of us into the lives of the people that we are interacting with.  It’s just the way life is.  We can only give what we have and we only have what we have taken the time to put in, and if we want to become women who are going to be beautifully used in the lives of those that are around us, we must decide to do what we can to make sure that the presence of God is what we are being filled with within.
